BBCode (Bulletin Board Code) is another, older, Lightweight Markup Language.
It was first introduced in 1998 (Pre-Y2K!) for use on forums and, you guessed it, bulletin boards.
BBCode (and Markdown) provide an easy way for users to enrich their posts without needing to learn or use hypertext markup language (HTML) or cascading style sheet (CSS).
Onward Heroes supports both!

The short answer is, it depends.
Some of these options are already built into the reply/edit window but, maybe you want to feel like a L337 H4x0R.
BBCode can do somethings Markdown isn't capable of (like color and size) and vice versa.
Similarly, some styling can be done with either, we'll cover all the possibilities below.
